Do you play in a young big band? Do you love jazz music? Would you like to spend a week with young big band musicians like yourself, participate in master classes with some of the best scandinavian big band musicians and play a concert in the most visited concert hall during Aarhus Jazz Festival? Then read on closely - this is your opportunity!

We are proud to announce that once again Aarhus Jazz Orchestra will be hosting a youth big band camp during the Aarhus Jazz Festival this summer. Last year, we hosted a similar big band camp for young aspiring and talented big band musicians, witch resulted in an inspiring week of learning, sharing and playing. This year we are recreating the success under the new title: “Scandinavian Big Band Camp”, which will take place in Aarhus, Denmark, from the 17th - 22nd of July.

We are now searching for Scandinavian youth big bands to join the newly created and talented Danish Youth Jazz Orchestra, and participate in workshops, masterclasses, jam sessions - all with musicians and soloists from the prestigious Aarhus Jazz Orchestra. Participating big bands are invited to perform a concert of aprox. 60min as well as playing a “Scandinavian Big Band Battle” and meeting other young jazz musicians from Scandinavia and Aarhus.

All the workshops, masterclasses and jam session are FREE, but participating big bands will need to provide their own transportation to and from Aarhus, meals, and housing. We will help as much as possible, recommend cheap hostels and hotels, and/or make contact with other sleeping accommodations.
